Q Vision Now Offers Implantable Contact Lens Surgery in Phoenix

Dr. Tariq Qamar, medical director at Q Vision, is now offering implantable contact lens surgery.

The implantable contact lens, trade-named the Visian lens, is a means of reducing one's dependence on eyeglasses or contact lenses. In general, it is thought of as an alternative for patients who are not good candidates for LASIK, though occasional patients may choose it instead of LASIK.

"I held off on offering implantable contact lens surgery for a while, because I wanted to make sure that I was comfortable with its safety profile. However, the safety data I am seeing is excellent and patients are reporting exceptionally vivid, high-definition vision from this lens, so I am pleased that we are now offering it. The best part is, we can now correct the vision of many of the patients who were previously stuck in glasses or contacts, because we were unable to treat them with LASIK," reports Dr. Qamar.
